Read w/ Me: Fall Edition

IMG_3609

I decided that a bookish blog post is long overdue and since I am currently an ambassador for the Book Sparks Fall Reading Challenge, I thought I’d give you guys a little updated book list for fall. With that being said, I’ve been getting tons of questions all about Book Sparks and what exactly the challenge is, and basically they have just been sending me fall-themed books for the past month or so for me to read and share with you guys! I have really enjoyed this experience because I love finding new authors and so far, they have all been new to me! Not to mention, I am obsessed with true-crime and that sort of thing, and some of these books seriously have the best, spooky story lines. Along with the books from Book Sparks, I am going to include my favorite fall-themed books, so I hope you enjoy this post + comment some book recommendations below!

In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware:

I actually read this entire book on a flight home around Thanksgiving last year. It’s an easy read and honestly impossible to put down. I remember from start to finish, I was constantly wanting more. It’s a crime/mystery novel that takes place at a cabin in the woods so you can only imagine how spooky it is!

The Secret History by Donna Tartt:

I would consider this more of an advanced novel just because you really have to use your mind while reading it. It’s more complex but the story line is SO good and very compelling. It’s sort of a mystery/thriller.  It’s perfect read for fall!

The Night in Question by Nic Joseph:

This book was actually included in the fall reading challenge, and I have to say it stood out to me the most. It’s basically about an Uber ride gone wrong, and if that doesn’t make you wanna read it, I don’t know what will. I love the idea behind it because it’s so current and interesting. It’s definitely an easy + fun read for the fall time!

A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard:

If you’re someone who loves true-crime, then I highly recommend this book. This is a true story about a girl who was kidnapped for eighteen years of her life and survived to tell her story. She kept a diary throughout it all so it’s very interesting. This is a heavy topic and if you’re sensitive to that sort of stuff, I wouldn’t recommend reading because it gets very deep.

September Favorites

img_2911.png

So for the month of October, I am going to attempt to put up two blog posts per week (maybe more) so get ready for lot’s of content from me! I thought this would be the perfect intro into the new month with a little recap of products and favorites I was loving in September! img_2909-e1538523397783.png

img_2912.png

I am planning on doing an updated skincare / makeup routine blog post on it’s own so I just wanted to feature some of my ultimate favorites for this.

The first product I want to talk about is the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. This has been a cult-favorite this year, for good reason. It took me the longest time to try it out (mainly because it was always out of stock) but I finally picked it up and gave it a try. I’ll admit, my first reaction was that it reminded me of toothpaste — it has a minty scent / thick texture. After using it overnight, I was amazed at how soft and moisturized my skin felt! I have fairly normal-to-dry skin so I found this stuff to be super helpful for that. Even though it’s considered a mask, I love using it as my daily moisturizer… it’s just that good!

Next, I wanted to mention a fun little brand I discovered on Instagram. I feel like I’m always seeing ads on my feed for smaller skincare/body brands similar to this so I thought it’d be interesting to give you guys a little insight on how I actually feel about their products. Anese is a skin/body care brand that specializes in booty care. Yes, you read that right. They have a bunch of different scrubs and lotions for your bum. I wanted to mention that + I will link those products below if you’re interested! However, I decided to test out their new skincare SLAY serum for your face! I have been loving this product. I usually apply it under my moisturizer before my makeup! I personally think it’s super important to hydrate your skin before applying a full-face of makeup, because it applies sooo much smoother and lasts way longer.

Anese Bootycare

If you haven’t already heard of Wander Beauty, get ready for a huge spiel from me because I have been obsessed with their products! They are a cruelty-free beauty brand that carries makeup/skincare. I am planning on featuring a couple different products from them in my makeup routine but for this post I wanted to share their eye masks with you guys! They are so easy to apply, you can seriously do it anywhere! I love these.

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Foil Eye Masks

Lastly, I wanted to mention two primers that I have been loving! Similar to moisturizer, I honestly believe in using primer. I know a lot of people have different opinions on whether or not it actually works but personally my skin needs all the hydration it can get! I notice a difference when I use primer versus when I don’t so that’s why I love it! You guys know I love Smashbox primers so I decided to pick up this Radiance once. It honestly reminds me of my Glam Glow Mega Illuminating Moisturizer, so I am super stoked about that.

Smashbox Radiance Primer

Another product that I am long overdue to test out is the MAC Prep and Prime Fix+ spray. This stuff smells so dang good and works amazingly! Personally, I can’t do my highlighter without some sort of primer spray so I really love this! It sets your makeup and leaves it looking super hydrated.

This was a hard section to pick for because I feel like I am still transitioning into my fall closet and I want to a do a fall style report so I just decided to go with some accessories that I’ve been loving.

I think these KDB boots might just be my favorite pair of shoes I’ve ever owned! I am seriously obsessed with this style. White boots are so cute for fall because they bring a lil pop of color to any outfit! I am super excited to style these.

Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn Boots

Similar Style – I love these for everyday wear!

I have been meaning to pick up a mini backpack and I was so excited to find this one at Brandy Melville. This goes with every outfit and it’s SO convenient. I will see if I can find the exact link to this one but I will be sure to link some of my other favorites below.

Lastly, I wanted to mention some undergarments that I have been obsessed with. This might sound so weird to feature in a monthly favorites post but these are so comfy + amazing to sleep in! Richer Poorer also has t shirts + socks so I highly recommend checking their stuff out. Their products are super high quality and soft!

IMG_2942.PNG

I have a few different things for my lifestyle favorites but first I wanna talk about this perfume I’ve been loving from by Rosie Jane. They recently released their new scent Angie, which is a mix of honeysuckle + fig. I am obsessed! It’s the perfect light scent for fall.

Angie by Rosie Jane perfume

I am so excited to announce that I am partnered up with Olly. Olly is a vitamin brand sold at Target that I’ve honestly been using forever! I think my mom originally introduced me to their brand last year + I have been using them every since. They are gummies so they’re super easy to take daily + they have a decent taste to them. As a full-time student, I have been loving their laser focus/ goodbye stress vitamins. These are so helpful and I seriously think they make a difference!

Goodbye Stress Vitamins

Lastly, Califia Farms is my go-to almond milk / creamer brand. I have been using their stuff forever! I will admit I am not a huge pumpkin spice fan but every year around this time I give it another shot because I want to get in to the fall spirit. I picked this one up at my local Von’s and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t like that intense pumpkin flavor. It’s a subtle taste, which I love. I highly recommend adding this to your fall morning routine.

My Go-To Hair Products

img_1436.jpg

IMG_1745

Before I get into my go-to hair products, I wanted to just give you guys a little low-down on my hair. I am naturally very blonde, however, I’ve been getting highlights since around my freshman year of high school. I’ve always preferred my hair to be super light…but, after so many years of bleaching + toning, I have realized the upkeep, and damage it does on your hair is just not worth it in the long run. I still get my hair professionally done, however, I have switched from full-highlights to balayage…which is basically another high-lighting technique where it gives a much more natural effect. I highly recommend balayage just because it’s way less upkeep + much more cost effective! As a college student, I love it because I don’t have the means or time to get my hair done very often…and I’ve noticed with balayage you can grow out your roots for much longer without it looking like a complete disaster. As for growing out long locks…this might sound gross at first, but my number one tip would be to wash your hair only a few times a week. I usually wash mine only twice a week + when I do, I make sure to style it with my favorite products so it lasts! This has helped my hair grow like crazy + it’s much healthier! Since I started growing out my hair in January, I have made an effort to find the absolute best products for my hair + I have been loving these…

img_1750-e1531784725919.jpg

For shampoo + conditioner, I have been loving the brand Kristin Ess. Since I do get my hair done, I like to use a purple shampoo when I wash my hair to reduce brassiness. I have tried tons of different brands, and I love this one! She also has a purple conditioner but to avoid purple-toned hair, I just picked up the regular signature one. I love these products because the packaging + quality is very high-end at an amazing price!

img_1751-e1531789910436.jpg

IMG_1497

Once my hair is nice + clean, I always apply my Drybar Prep Rally detangler spray. This stuff works so well + smells amazing! I love it because it keeps my hair nice + smooth, and also works as a heat protectant!

To help detangle, I am obsessed with my Wet brush! If you haven’t already tried a Wet brush, you need to go to the store right now + pick one up. I seriously don’t know what I did before I had mine!

Lastly, I am still loving my OUAI Sun of A Beach Ombré Spray. I mentioned this product in a previous post + I just wanted to give a little update. Overall, I find that it definitely gives a slight highlight effect on my ends…I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants the balayage look, on a budget.

IMG_1752

IMG_1753.jpg

Once my hair is dry, I always try to style it right away. I prefer to curl my hair because I’ve found that it lasts longer than when I leave it untouched. I can add my favorite dry shampoo + re-style it throughout the week and it will still look good! For dry shampoo, I absolutely love Batiste! Overall, this brand is inexpensive and works perfectly.

IMG_1498

Once my hair is curled, my final + favorite step is to add my OUAI Wave Spray. I am honestly obsessed with this product. It adds texture + works as a hair spray to keep my curls in check. This stuff smells so fancy + amazing, it’s by far my favorite hair product I’ve ever tried! It’s perfect for those loose beachy curls.

Tips + Tricks: How to Make a Rental Feel More Like Home

IMG_9354

I am a firm believer that a happy environment at home can have the most positive effect on your everyday life. Similar to my own unique style and writing, I consider decorating as another form of a creative outlet for myself. As cheesy as it may sound, I think it’s so important to use your creativity in your everyday life. By surrounding myself with the things I love, I feel so inspired and motivated to be my best self. Since moving into my own place, I have been overly-obsessed with decorating and finding the perfect pieces for my little apartment, on a budget. I’ve mentioned before that as a college student, it’s so easy to feel like you’re just going through the motions and don’t have a set place you necessarily call “home.” With my own experience with renting, I’ve found that it can be difficult to make it feel like home, when you don’t exactly “own” the place. However, I’ve found that adding your own personal style, with bits + pieces of inspiration can fix any situation to feel cozier. No matter if you’re in a dorm room, apartment, or house,  I have a couple helpful tips + tricks that will go a long way into making your rental feel more like home:img_9355-e1531256243851.jpg

IMG_9503

I can’t stress this one enough…nothing makes a room feel more lonely than empty wall space. With rentals, there’s really only so much you can actually do with your space so there’s no better way to lighten up a room than with some wall art. A lot of online website are pretty pricey when it comes to simple prints, so I have a life-hack for you guys if you aren’t looking to over-spend in this area. On websites like Pinterest and Tumblr, there are tons of different prints and photos that you can print out for free…and then dress up with a pretty frame from your local thrift store. I will link some examples of prints I found online below.

Grateful Print

Do What You Love Print

Another place to find inexpensive wall art is on Amazon. I think it just might be my favorite place to find home goods because they have so much to offer and they make it so easy for you to shop. I found this wall decal on amazon for a decent price and it was so easy to stick on-to my wall.

IMG_9575.jpg

IMG_9356Now this tip might seem a bit strange at first, but trust me when I say adding different textures to a room can seriously change the vibe and make it feel extra cozy. For instance, I have been loving the whole wicker trend. You can find wicker baskets at your local Home-Goods, or online on Amazon for a decent price. Not only are they great for storage but they can quickly switch up a space and make it feel more put-together. In my apartment, I knew I wanted to add some type of marble piece but I wanted to stray away from making my living room “too” modern, so I decided to add a wicker basket on my marble coffee table and I swear it gives the perfect balance of modern, yet shabby chic.

IMG_9509

Another way to add texture is with your throw pillows + blankets. Pillows are my favorite because they are so versatile and can seriously change the feel of the entire space. I like to do this by playing around with different prints and colors, this is definitely where you can add your own personal style and creativity.

IMG_9530.jpg

img_9357-e1531258418266.jpg

IMG_9567

This is probably my favorite tip I have for you guys and it’s so simple! Adding plants + flowers is the best way to freshen up any space. I like to find a good balance between real and artificial plants throughout my apartment because I am honestly the worst at keeping plants alive. However, I do love picking up a bunch of fresh flowers during my weekly trip to Trader Joe’s…they have the best options at the lowest price! As for artificial plants, I usually go to IKEA or Target. They’re always reasonably priced and seriously change the entire vibe of a room.

img_9358.jpg

IMG_9513

Being the coffee enthusiast I am, I had to dedicate a section of my kitchen to my absolute favorite beverage. So I decided to turn a basic utility cart into a coffee cart. This obviously isn’t a necessity but I wanted to mention it because I am seriously loving mine! It’s perfect for small spaces that are lacking in counter-space.

img_9387.jpg

IMG_9573.jpg

This might sound super cliché but it’s the little things that make a difference. I am obsessed with candles and make sure to put them everywhere. It’s a quick and easy way to make a room feel cozier. I wanted to share some of my absolute favorite candles with you guys:

Capri Blue Candle

My Go-To Self Care Tips & Tricks

IMG_7776.JPG

IMG_7778

I am currently in the midst of moving, which is very exciting…don’t get me wrong about that, but going from lease to lease each summer is always stressful. It’s hard not to feel like you’re stuck in the in-between stage of your life throughout college. Of course I am constantly growing, but there is always this tiny voice in my head that seems to be telling me that I should be doing more, or better. As a college student in my twenties, it’s hard not to get discouraged or worried when thinking about what appears to be the whole grand scheme of things. Especially with the significance of social media in our society today, it’s easy to compare your progress to someone else when in reality you’re only falling a victim to some strangers perception of their perfect life on a little screen. Through my own years of self-discovery and figuring sh*t out, I’ve come to realize the truth behind the fact that everyone you see online is a real person…who deals with real issues, give or take. Everyone is dealing with their own demons, and everyone handles them in their own way. Since I got back to San Diego I’ve been in the process of finding a new place and figuring out my next big step. It’s really brought me back to think about why I started this blog and what I want to share with you guys. It might be easier to share the good stuff, but I want to be real with my readers and show you that everybody has those days. Whenever I wake up feeling like the universe is far from being a friend of mine, I have a few special things I like to do. All of these things have to do with self-care, and taking that step back to really ground myself. Sometimes self care presents itself as this glamorous thing, like bubble baths or face masks & sometimes self-care just looks like going to your favorite coffee shop and reading a good book, or making a mental list of all the things that make you feel good. I am grateful for both.

IMG_7778

img_8074-e1530138778492.jpgThis is my first, and very most important tip because I believe that everyone should do at least one thing that makes their heart happy, each and every day. Now this might be different for absolutely everyone, whether it’s a hobby or simply just watching your favorite TV show at night…I am a firm believer in “Me Time.” Through the chaos of life, it’s easy to get caught up in making everyone else happy and I’ve learned the hard way that it’s SO vital to take time for yourself. Personally, I love to write. I’ve found that it’s my best stress-relief and always makes me feel productive.

img_8040-e1530139297765.jpgOn the same topic of making time for yourself…let’s talk about working out. I have a love/hate relationship with the gym. However, I am very aware that it has so many benefits for physical AND mental health. I’ve been doing yoga on & off for years and I love it. The best thing about it is that you can either sign up for classes at a studio or you can do it in the comfort of your own home. No matter how I’m feeling before a yoga class, I always leave in a significantly better mood.

img_8041-e1530145100850.jpg

I swear there’s a song out there that can relate to any situation or feeling you may have. Good music can seriously change the world. Whenever I am having an off-day, I always force myself to clean. I know this might sound crazy to some people, but I find it very therapeutic. I love blaring my favorite feel-good songs while I try to be productive as possible. You can listen to my feel-good playlist here.

screen-shot-2018-06-27-at-6-55-15-pm.pngIMG_8042

Similar to music, there’s an endless amount of books and authors you can relate to. When you’re really busy it might seem impossible to sit down and read a book but I promise you it’s the best stress relief. Not to mention, there’s so many authors out there that have moving life-stories that will inspire you and get you out of your funk. Here are some of my favorites:

Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso — if you’re interested in fashion or being an entrepreneur, her story is amazing!

Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan— I read this whole book on the airplane back to SD…needless to say it’s amazing. It’s a true story about a crazy medical mystery. The movie actually just came out on Netflix too & it’s really good!

You are a Badass by Jen Sincero— I’m not usually one for self-help books but I will say sometimes they are necessary. I enjoyed this one because not only is it an easy read, but she has a great sense of humor!img_8043-e1530147629544.jpgI must admit…I am obsessed with Pinterest! I wouldn’t usually recommend going on social media to de-stress but it’s my absolute favorite for INSPO. I swear I could spend hours just scrolling through the app…especially in the process of moving, it’s been so helpful for my apartment inspiration. Check out my Pinterest:

Everyday Makeup Must-Haves

MAKEUP ROUTINE 1-1.jpg

img_6375-1.jpg

I’ve been wanting to do this post since I started my blog because I’ve finally found a makeup routine that I absolutely love! Each and every one of these products has been a part of my everyday makeup for at least a few months to a year, so you can trust me when I say these are my favorites! As someone who loves watching makeup/beauty videos a little too much… I can honestly say that I have had my fair share of trying out different brands and products and I can’t seem to stray away from these!

IMG_6371

Before applying any makeup, I always moisturize. I’ve been absolutely loving the Glam Glow Mega Illuminating Moisturizer underneath my foundation because it gives my skin such a dewy finish.

I don’t always use primer, but if I do I use Smash Box.

Oftentimes, I feel like you can’t tell a difference when it comes to using primers, but this product color-corrects and gives your skin such a soft appearance.

Lastly, the Mario Badescu Rose-Water spray is my go-to product throughout my entire makeup routine. I spray it before I apply my highlight, and after I’m done with my makeup to set my face.

img_6373.jpg

After I prep and prime, I use my FAVORITE foundation ever: Too Faced Peach Perfect. I’ve been using this product for over a year now, and I am still obsessed. First of all, it smells amazing. It’s the perfect every-day foundation because it has the appearance of any other full-coverage product, but it feels so light on your skin.

Next, my go-to concealer is the Tarte Shape-Tape. Not only does work amazingly, but it also lasts forever!

For contour, I love Benefit’s Hoola cream to powder contour stick. I use their powder bronzer as well, and I love it!

For blush, I’ve been obsessed with this Too Faced Peach Perfect Pinch My Peach! I was hesitant about cream products at first, but this has changed my makeup game. I swear it’s so easy to apply and it’s such a natural-pretty color.

Once I’ve applied all my cream products, I finish the look with my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium! After trying out several different translucent powders, I found that this product gave my skin such a glowing finish!

IMG_6374

Now time for finishing touches…

I’ve been using the Anastasia Brow Wiz for as long as I can remember. I like to use the Benefit Gimme Brow for some extra hold.

My absolute favorite part of my makeup routine has to be highlight. I’ve used so many different highlighters and I absolute LOVE precious petals by Wet n Wild. I swear it gives the perfect natural glow and it’s perfect for summer.

As for eye makeup, I usually just add some bronzer to my lid. I have eyelash extensions which is why I don’t wear any mascara! Comment below if you’d like a post all about eyelash extensions…

IMG_6370-1.jpg

Although this isn’t necessarily a part of my “makeup routine”…I’ve been using these products DAILY. I absolutely love this brand and their products.

I use the OUAI Sun of a Beach spray on my damp hair before I blow-dry and it lightens my ends and gives more of an ombre effect. My hair is already very blonde so it’s just a tiny difference but this product is amazing for brunettes who want to lighten up their hair for the summer.

Once my hair is dry, I love using the Wave Spray for some extra texture. It’s the perfect product for beachy curls.

Home Sweet Home

Bright Light Love-3.jpg

IMG_5044Untitled-31.jpgHi there lovelies! Since I am currently back home for a short few weeks, I decided it would be fitting to write a more personal post so you guys can get to know a little more about me. Something I’ve always struggled with was the concept of “home.” Growing up in a military family, I’ve been able to call a wide variety of area codes my “home” from time to time. All the way from a tiny island in Japan to the middle of the Mojave Desert; you could say I’ve lived all over the map. Around seventh-grade, my dad retired and my family and I packed up our tiny desert townhouse and made our thirty-hour road trip to Kentucky. Being so accustomed to moving, this didn’t strike me as anything special but I will say that I knew absolutely nothing about this new place I’d call home—besides KFC and horses. Which is funny to me now because that’s usually the first response I get when I tell people I am from Kentucky. Long story short, I grew to love Kentucky but when it came time to decide on where I’d go to college, I had a strong desire to branch out and apply out-of-state. Little did I know, I would end up moving two-thousand miles away to attend my dream school in San Diego. It wasn’t until that freshman year of college when I honestly realized the true meaning of home. I remember it like yesterday, saying goodbye to my parents on move-in day and feeling an actual pit in my stomach when they walked out that door and I was faced with what I had done. Being the absolute home-body that I am, I don’t think I had ever spent more than five days without my family, and that was at church camp in seventh grade. After going into full panic-mode, I then of course realized what an amazing experience I had in front of me and I decided to make the most of it. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely did…but that’s a different story. This story is about what I learned along the way. Before that year, if someone were to ask me about my home, I would probably tell them that my dad was in the military and it was hard for me to consider one single place I had lived, my home. Or maybe I would describe my house in Kentucky; all brick, down a tree-shaded street. That year, I had learned more about myself and life than I had learned in the seventeen years prior. I learned that sometimes home isn’t just a brick infrastructure with a wrap around porch, or a one bedroom apartment in the city. Home can have two hazel-green eyes, and a crooked smile. It’s the one place where both your mind is at ease, and your heart feels full. Home can look like a rainy Sunday morning, or a Friday night out dancing with your girl friends. It’s where faith always wins over fear. Home isn’t necessarily just a place, or one specific person. I think there’s a little bit of home inside each of us. It’s just a matter of embracing it in the way we live our lives, every single day.

Summer Beauty Favorites

I Scream You Scream BBQ-1

Untitled-20.jpgOne thing I am really hoping to gain from FaithfulLuxe is the chance to captivate my readers, and find my voice as a writer. Taking that into consideration, I want to use my first couple blog posts to introduce myself. One thing you must know about me is that I am obsessed with skin care…yes, I am that friend. I’m not entirely sure where the obsession stems from, but I will say that spending my free time watching YouTube videos and scrolling through beauty blogs has had a significant impact on the person I am today. However, it wasn’t until the carefree, yet stress-filled college years when I truly realized the real importance of a consistent skin care routine. Don’t get me wrong, I only just turned twenty-one last month and have yet to develop fine lines or wrinkles, my skin care routine is simply preventative.

Before you roll your eyes, check out the products I use below and trust me when I say my skin has definitely improved since using these products ↓↓↓

One thing I’ve learned about myself while writing this post is that I apparently have a thing for roses. I guess there’s just something so lovely about smelling like a flower.

One brand I absolutely LOVE for skin care is Fresh cosmetics, because their products are all natural and leave your skin feeling…fresh. Their Soy Face Cleanser has been my favorite for a couple of months now, and the product is super long-lasting, I think I’ve had this same bottle for about four months now. Along with that, I’ve been absolutely loving their Rose Hydrating Gel Eye Cream.

Okay, so now the Mario Badescu Facial Spray is my go-to during my makeup routine. I use it as a setting spray, and sometimes even before my makeup whenever my skin needs some extra hydration. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without this product.

Last but not least, two products I’ve been loving are actually from Target. Thayer’s Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner has worked wonders for my skin. As well as the Pixi Rose OilBlend, which I use whenever my skin is feeling dry, or before applying makeup for an extra dewy look.

One of my absolute favorite brands of all time is Glam Glow, and I was so excited when they recently released the Glow Starter Mega Illuminating moisturizer. Having a good moisturizer is so vital to your skin care routine and this product has truly helped my skin. What I love the most about this product is that it leaves a glowing tint to your skin so even on those no-makeup days, you will still feel like you’re wearing something.

I can’t talk about my summer beauty favorites without talking about the product that’s been saving me this summer…literally. It took me the longest time to find a face sunscreen that didn’t cause breakouts. Luckily I came across this product by Drunk Elephant. The Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense is one of the best sunscreens out right now. I usually apply this everyday after I apply moisturizer right before I apply my makeup.

This wouldn’t be a legitimate post about my beauty favorites if I didn’t include self-tanner. I am blonde-haired, blue-eyed, fair-skinned girl and it takes quite a bit for me to get a natural tan going. I am also the most impatient human being on this planet and I am all for the get-rich-quick kind of deal, so self-tanner is my best friend. St. Tropez is in my opinion, the best brand out there. I usually apply it at night before bed, and voilà, I wake up tanner than ever. The only downside of St. Tropez is that it can stain your sheets and it only lasts about a week or so, depending on how often you use moisturizer.  However, a couple of months ago, I discovered the brand Tan-Luxe and their amazing product, The Water. It’s a clear, gradual self-tanner that won’t stain your sheets. It also smells amazing.

I am a huge face mask fanatic. These are two of my favorite masks I’ve been loving recently. Peter Thomas Roth is one of the best in the skin care game. I absolutely love his Cucumber Gel Mask for summer because it’s seriously so cooling and it will make you feel like you’re at the spa. The Pumpkin Enzyme Mask is another one of my favorites because it smells like pumpkin pie, and it leaves your skin feeling extra revitalized.

Stop and Smell the Roses

After living in San Diego for about three years now, I finally made my way to the Carlsbad Flower Fields. Just in time, considering that today is the last day that they’re actually open for this season. Although the weather in San Diego lately has been giving me serious rainy-day, stay in bed and watch This Is Us vibes, the flower fields did not disappoint.
